Swatara 91 was called to the reported trash truck fire at 4600 High Pointe Commons at 4:39 a.m., according to the department.
Responding crews found the truck had dumped the load after it ignited inside of the truck.
"Units arrived with a pile of trash on fire in the lot and extinguished with no extension to the vehicle," the department said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was not released.
